ADAR2 Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects ADAR2 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ADAR2, also known as adenosine deaminase, RNA-specific (RED1), plays a crucial role in RNA editing by converting adenosine to inosine, which is essential for the proper functioning of various proteins, including the glutamate receptor subunit B. This editing process not only alters the amino acid sequence of proteins, potentially affecting their function, but also allows for the generation of new splice sites, thereby increasing the diversity of the proteome. ADAR2′s ability to modify its own pre-mRNA highlights a regulatory role in RNA processing, and translocation from the nucleolus to the nucleoplasm is associated with enhanced editing of substrates. Furthermore, alternative splicing of the ADAR2 gene results in multiple transcript variants, which may further influence RNA editing efficiency and specificity. Anti-ADAR2 antibody (C-2) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying the complexities of RNA editing and its implications in various biological processes and diseases.
