SEE ALSO...

Egr-1 Antibody (S-25) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Egr-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Egr-1 antibody (S-25) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile applications in various experimental settings. Egr-1, a member of the early growth response (Egr) family of transcription factors, plays a crucial role in cellular processes such as mitogenesis and differentiation by binding to specific DNA sequences, including the Egr-site (5′-CGCCCCCGC-3′). This binding activates the transcription of target genes essential for cell growth and development. Rapid response to extracellular stimuli underscores Egr-1′s importance in cellular signaling pathways, particularly in response to stress and growth factors. Various post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation and glycosylation, can influence Egr-1′s activity and stability, thereby affecting gene expression patterns. Understanding the dynamics of Egr-1 and its regulatory mechanisms is vital for elucidating its role in physiological and pathological processes, including cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.

With which diluent should I use for diluting primary antibody, milk or BSA?

Asked by: ww20
Thank you for your question. We recommend UltraCruz® Blocking Reagent: sc-516214, which is the blocking reagent with which all of our antibodies are established. Alternatively, a blocking reagent based on milk powder is more suitable for blots with strong signal and high background, whereas a BSA buffer is better used for weak but clean signals.

What is the recommended secondary reagent to be used with this mouse monoclonal primary?

Asked by: jerojero
We recommend using one our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins as a secondary detection reagent. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
