MAGOH Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects MAGOH in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MAGOH plays a vital role in embryo development and is ubiquitously expressed across various adult tissues, highlighting its importance in cellular functions. MAGOH features a unique structure characterized by an extremely flat, six-stranded anti-parallel β sheet adjacent to two helices, which is crucial for interaction with the Y14 protein. This interaction forms a complex that is essential for post-splicing processing, including the nuclear export and cytoplasmic localization of mRNA, as well as the surveillance process known as nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD). The MAGOH-Y14 complex remains associated with mRNA even after export to the cytoplasm, necessitating translation of mRNA for eventual removal. This structural and functional relationship underscores MAGOH′s significance in maintaining mRNA integrity and regulating gene expression, making anti-MAGOH antibody (C-11) an invaluable tool for researchers studying these critical biological processes.
