p-SC35 Antibody (SC-35) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects p-SC35 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. anti-p-SC35 antibody (SC-35) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. p-SC35 plays a crucial role in pre-mRNA splicing by acting as a splicing enhancer, which is essential for accurate recognition of splice sites and regulation of alternative splicing. This function is vital because alternative splicing allows a single gene to produce multiple protein isoforms, thereby increasing protein diversity from the genome. p-SC35 is primarily located in the nucleus, where p-SC35 interacts with other serine/arginine-rich splicing factors, such as 9G8 and SF2/ASF, to facilitate splicing. Nuclear localization of p-SC35 ensures splicing occurs close to transcription machinery, enhancing mRNA processing efficiency. Additionally, p-SC35 activity and other splicing factors are finely regulated by various proteins, including members of the heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) family, which can modulate splicing outcomes by competing for binding sites on pre-mRNA. This intricate balance of interactions underscores p-SC35′s importance in gene expression regulation and potential implications in diseases associated with splicing dysregulation.

Have you assayed if this SC-35 antibody actually targets SRRM2 (not SRSF2)? A 2020 eLife suggests that this antibody targets SRRM2, SRSF7, as well as cross-reactivity with some other SR proteins. https://elifesciences.org/articles/60579

I would like to use sc-53518 antibody for frozen mouse brain sample to staining Purkinje cells. But I cannot find the reference about mouse Purkinje cells. Do you have some references?

I am using p-SC35 (SC-35): sc-53518 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?
