SEE ALSO...

TFIIIB90-1/2/3/5 Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TFIIIB90 isoforms 1, 2, 3, and 5 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-TFIIIB90-1/2/3/5 antibody (A-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. TFIIIB90 plays a crucial role in the transcription of genes by RNA polymerase III, which synthesizes essential small RNAs such as tRNA and 5S rRNA. This function matters because proper regulation of RNA polymerase III activity drives cellular growth and proliferation, especially in rapidly dividing cells. Overexpression of TFIIIB90 and associated complexes, such as TFIIIC2, commonly occurs in transformed cell lines and various tumors, including ovarian carcinomas, suggesting a connection between TFIIIB90 activity and cancer progression. TFIIIC2 complex, which includes multiple subunits, recruits RNA polymerase III to promoter elements, enabling transcription of genes necessary for cell survival and growth. In many malignancies, inactivation of tumor suppressors like retinoblastoma (RB) and p53 disrupts regulatory mechanisms that normally control TFIIIB90 function, contributing to aberrant expression of genes promoting tumorigenesis.
