JAK1 Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects JAK1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC, and ELISA. JAK1 Antibody (A-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, HRP, PE, FITC, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. JAK1, or Janus kinase 1, is a crucial member of the non-receptor Janus tyrosine kinase family, which plays a vital role in mediating cellular responses to cytokine signaling in the lympho-hematopoietic system. JAK1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is recruited to the membrane upon activation of cytokine receptors. This localization is essential for JAK1′s function, as JAK1 interacts with receptor-associated proteins and initiates downstream signaling cascades. Upon stimulation by immunological signals such as interferons and cytokines, JAK1 phosphorylates signal transducer and activator of transcription (Stat) proteins, leading to their dimerization and translocation to the nucleus, where they regulate gene expression. The phosphorylation of specific tyrosine residues, particularly at positions 1022 and 1023, is critical for JAK1′s catalytic activation and subsequent signaling events. The canonical JAK-Stat pathway is integral to maintaining immune homeostasis, promoting cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival, while also providing host defense against pathogens. Dysregulation of JAK-Stat signaling has been implicated in various inflammatory diseases, making JAK1 a promising target for therapeutic intervention in anti-inflammatory strategies.

Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide sc-1677 P is a short synthetic peptide and is intended for use as a negative control. It is not appropriate for use in Western Blot as a positive control for the JAK1 antibody sc-1677.
