SEE ALSO...

PKC Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects protein kinase C (PKC) across mouse, rat, and human species by applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PKC antibody (A-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The protein kinase C family is crucial for regulating cellular functions, including cell growth, differentiation, gene expression, hormone secretion, and membrane dynamics. PKC proteins are primarily located in the cytoplasm and move to the cell membrane upon activation, playing a vital role in signal transduction pathways. This translocation activates downstream signaling cascades that influence various physiological processes. The PKC family includes conventional and novel isoforms, each showing distinct regulatory mechanisms and tissue-specific expression patterns. Understanding PKC localization and activation is key for revealing its role in health and disease, especially in cancer and other conditions where signaling pathways are disrupted.

What is the difference between this (A-9) clone and the discontinued polyclonal sc-10800: PKC (H-300)?

Asked by: TinTin
PKC (A-9): sc-17804 is a monoclonal antibody raised against the same recombinant protein immunogen used to make polyclonal antibody sc-10800, amino acids 373-672 of PKC of human origin. The mouse monoclonal antibody is more specific and consistent, with published data in WB and IHC(P), and featured in 9 publications.
