SEE ALSO...

TRAP Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects TRAP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-TRAP antibody (D-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP, ACP5) is an iron-containing glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in bone metabolism by catalyzing the hydrolysis of phosphate esters, which is essential for bone resorption and remodeling. TRAP is primarily located in osteoclasts, the cells responsible for bone degradation, and TRAP activity is vital for maintaining bone homeostasis. TRAP regulation is particularly important in pathological conditions such as osteoporosis and certain cancers, where osteoclast activity is dysregulated. Additionally, receptor activator of NFkB ligand (RANKL) activates TRAP, which enhances osteoclast differentiation and function, further underscoring TRAP significance in bone health and disease.

Hello, I bought an anti-TRAP antibody conjugated with Alexa Fluor® 594. Can this antibody be used also for classic WB as normal primary antibody? Thank you, Mattia

Asked by: Mattia
Thank you for your question. We recommend using either the unconjugated version with an appropriate primary antibody or the HRP conjugated version of this antibody for western blotting.

I am using TRAP (D-3): sc-376875 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: cjMara
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
