IFN-γ Antibody (F-1) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Interferon (IFN)-γ in mouse samples through applications such as immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). IFN-γ plays a crucial role in the immune response, acting as an antiviral and antiparasitic agent produced by activated CD4+/CD8+ lymphocytes and natural killer cells. IFN-γ modulates T cell growth and differentiation while inhibiting B cell proliferation, thereby shaping the adaptive immune response. IFN-γ′s active form is a homodimer, with each subunit comprising six helices, and this dimeric structure is stabilized by non-covalent interactions at the interface of the helices. The translated precursor of IFN-γ consists of 166 amino acids, which includes a 23 amino acid secretory sequence, and IFN-γ′s functionality is further enhanced by the presence of multiple forms resulting from variable glycosylation and the formation of dimers and tetramers under non-denaturing conditions. The versatility of IFN-γ in immune modulation underscores its significance in therapeutic applications and research, making anti-IFN-γ antibody (F-1) an essential tool for studying immune responses in mouse models.
