IL-2 Antibody (I2t-C7) is a rat monoclonal IgG antibody that detects IL-2 of mouse origin by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-IL-2 antibody (I2t-C7) is available as the non-conjugated form. IL-2, or Interleukin 2, is a crucial lymphokine primarily secreted by activated helper T cells, playing a vital role in the immune response by promoting the proliferation of T cells and acting as a growth factor for B cells. IL-2 enhances the immune system′s response to pathogens and tumors, making IL-2 a key player in immunotherapy and vaccine development. IL-2 function is intricately linked to signaling pathways, which include three distinct IL-2-dependent pathways: the c-Fos/c-Jun induction pathway mediated by Src family protein-tyrosine kinases, the c-Myc induction pathway, and the Rapamycin-sensitive pathway, all culminating in the induction of Bcl-2, a protein that helps regulate cell survival. Additionally, the transcription factor NFAT is essential for IL-2 transcription regulation, and NFAT activity has been shown to decline with age, correlating with reduced IL-2 expression. IL-2 serves as both a marker of immune activation and a potential target for therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing immune function in aging populations.
