ITF Antibody (H-425) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects intestinal trefoil factor (ITF) in human samples through applications such as immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ITF plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the intestinal epithelium, particularly during mucosal healing processes following injury. ITF is primarily localized in the epithelial mucosal layer of the small intestine and colon, as well as in the brain and pituitary gland, highlighting its importance in both gastrointestinal health and neurological functions. ITF presence in these tissues is vital for promoting cell migration and proliferation, which are essential for repairing damaged epithelial surfaces. ITF expression increases in response to epithelial damage and in various pathological conditions, including metaplasia and neoplasia, making ITF a significant marker for studying gastrointestinal disorders. ITF genes, along with other trefoil factors, are clustered on human chromosome 21q22.3, underscoring their evolutionary conservation and functional relevance in mucosal biology. Anti-ITF antibody (H-425) is an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the roles of trefoil peptides in health and disease.
