SEE ALSO...

BRS-3 Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BRS-3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BRS-3 Antibody (B-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Bombesin receptor subtype-3 (BRS-3) is an integral membrane protein that belongs to the G protein-coupled receptor 1 family, with its gene located on chromosome Xq26.3. BRS-3 plays a crucial role in sperm cell division, maturation, and function, with signaling mediated through G protein interactions that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. BRS-3 is expressed in germ cells within the testis and in lung carcinoma cells, but unlike other bombesin receptors, BRS-3 is not typically found in the gut and central nervous system, although BRS-3 has been detected in the rat gastrointestinal tract. Studies have shown that mice lacking BRS-3 develop obesity, indicating potential involvement in plasma insulin concentration regulation, which underscores the significance of BRS-3 in metabolic processes.

What blocking solution should I use with BRS-3 (B-5): sc-271712 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
