SEE ALSO...

EphB2 Antibody (2D12C6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects EphB2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-EphB2 antibody (2D12C6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. EphB2 is a member of the Eph receptor family, which represents the largest group of receptor protein tyrosine kinases identified to date, playing a crucial role in mediating cell-cell interactions during development and in the central nervous system. EphB2 is primarily located on the cell surface, where EphB2 participates in signaling pathways that regulate cell adhesion, migration, and differentiation. Such localization is vital for function in neuronal development and synaptic plasticity, as EphB2 interacts with ligands, the ephrins, facilitating communication between adjacent cells. EphB2 interaction with ephrin-B2 is essential for establishing boundaries in the developing nervous system, influencing the organization of neural circuits. Understanding EphB2′s role in these processes is important for elucidating mechanisms underlying various neurological conditions and developmental disorders.

We used EphB2 antibody for western blot in mouse tissue sample. I expected 130kDa EphB2 band, but ~90kDa band is much stronger than 130kDa, even load 40ug of protein are loaded. Also, 130kDa band is too weak to detect. Could I get some advice about it?

Does the Anti-EphB2 Antibody (2D12C6): sc-130068 recognize an extracellular epitope of EphB2? Does it bind to EphB2 in the membrane without permeabilization?

Asked by: JimPonce
Thank you for your question. Anti-EphB2 Antibody (2D12C6): sc-130068 was raised against a recombinant protein corresponding to amino acids 17-200 of EphB2 of human origin, which corresponds to the extracellular domain of the protein.

Are there any issues with using sc-130068: EphB2 (2D12C6) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-130068 conjugates.
