Ataxin-10 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ATAXIN-10 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ATAXIN-10 antibody (C-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ATAXIN-10 plays a crucial role in the central nervous system, particularly in the cerebellum, brain stem, and spinal cord, where ATAXIN-10 is primarily expressed. As a cytoplasmic protein belonging to the armadillo repeat protein family, ATAXIN-10 is involved in important cellular processes, including the regulation of apoptosis in cerebellar neurons. A loss of ATAXIN-10 in primary neuronal cells has been linked to increased apoptosis, highlighting ATAXIN-10′s significance in neuronal survival and function. ATAXIN-10 interacts with p110, an O-Linked beta-N-acetylglucosamine transferase, suggesting ATAXIN-10′s potential role in modulating intracellular glycosylation levels and maintaining homeostasis in the brain. ATAXIN-10′s relevance is underscored by ATAXIN-10′s association with spinocerebellar ataxia type 10 (SCA10), an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by cerebellar ataxia and seizures, which arises from the expansion of an ATTCT pentanucleotide repeat in intron 9 of the ataxin-10 gene.
