CKIP-1 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Casein Kinase II-interacting protein 1 (CKIP-1) in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CKIP-1, also known as pleckstrin homology domain containing family O member 1 (PLEKHO1), is a 409-amino acid protein characterized by an N-terminal pleckstrin homology domain and a putative C-terminal JUN leucine zipper interactive domain. CKIP-1 plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly in the regulation of protein kinase CK2, which is involved in various cellular processes such as cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. CKIP-1 is predominantly expressed in skeletal muscle and heart tissues, with intermediate levels found in the placenta, lung, and brain, while expression is minimal in the pancreas, liver, and kidney. CKIP-1 localizes to the plasma membrane and nucleus in human osteosarcoma cells, suggesting a role in both membrane-associated signaling and nuclear functions, potentially influencing gene expression. CKIP-1 interacts specifically with the N terminus of CSNK2A1 and the full-length CSNK2A1, but does not interact with CSNK2A2 or CSNK2B, highlighting specificity in protein-protein interactions vital for cellular signaling.
