CYP2S1 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CYP2S1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CYP2S1 is a crucial member of the cytochrome P450 family, specifically classified within the CYP2 subfamily, and plays a significant role in the metabolism of various endogenous and exogenous compounds, including retinoic acid and aromatic hydrocarbons. CYP2S1 is predominantly localized in the endoplasmic reticulum of epithelial cells found in extrahepatic tissues, such as the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts, as well as the skin, which are often exposed to xenobiotics. CYP2S1 localization allows for efficient metabolism of drugs and other substances, thereby influencing pharmacokinetics and therapeutic responses. CYP2S1 is also implicated in the metabolism of topical medications and has a role in mediating responses to photochemotherapy in conditions like psoriasis. CYP2S1 expression can be induced by dioxin, with regulation occurring through the aryl hydrocarbon receptor and aryl hydrocarbon nuclear translocator pathways, highlighting its importance in environmental and therapeutic contexts.
