DSCR 1 Antibody (34-A) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects DSCR 1 of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-DSCR 1 antibody (34-A) is available in non-conjugated form. DSCR1, also known as Down syndrome critical region 1, Calcipressin-1, Adapt78, or myocyte-enriched calcineurin-interacting protein 1 (MCIP1), is a 252 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in regulating calcium signaling and cellular responses to stress. DSCR1 is predominantly expressed in skeletal muscle, brain, and heart tissues, where DSCR1 influences the development of cardiac and nervous systems. DSCR1 inhibits calcineurin-dependent transcriptional responses by binding to the catalytic domain of calcineurin A, which is essential for various cellular processes, including muscle contraction and neuronal signaling. DSCR1 is located on human chromosome 21, a region associated with several disorders, including Down syndrome, which is characterized by the presence of an extra copy of this chromosome. DSCR1 overexpression has been implicated in the pathogenesis of Down syndrome, highlighting DSCR1′s significance in both developmental biology and disease mechanisms.
