Phd Antibody (E-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Phd protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Phd antibody (E-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Phd protein, also known as phosducin, plays a crucial role in the phototransduction pathway, which is essential for converting light signals into visual information. Specifically, phosducin is primarily located in the outer and inner segments of photoreceptor cells in the retina, as well as in the pineal gland, where phosducin modulates the activity of G protein-coupled receptors. By binding to and sequestering G beta/gamma subunits of heterotrimeric G proteins, phosducin inhibits G protein-mediated signaling, thereby regulating the phototransduction cascade and influencing visual sensitivity. The human phosducin gene is mapped to chromosome 1q25-q31.1 and encodes a 246 amino acid protein, which is vital for maintaining the balance of photoreceptor metabolism and ensuring proper visual function.
