SCCA1 Antibody (8H11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the SCCA1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. SCCA1 (8H11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SCCA1, a member of the serpin family, plays a crucial role in regulating serine proteases, which are enzymes that can promote tumor metastasis by degrading extracellular matrix components. This regulation is vital because it helps maintain the balance between proteolytic activity and tissue integrity, thereby influencing cancer progression. The SCCA1 gene, located on human chromosome 18q21.3, is primarily expressed as SCCA1 and is associated with various cancer types, including cervical, lung, esophageal, and head and neck cancers, where SCCA1 levels increase with advancing disease stages. SCCA1 consists of 390 amino acids and was first identified in metastatic cervical squamous cell carcinoma, highlighting SCCA1′s significance as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis and prognosis. Anti-SCCA1 antibody (8H11) is an essential tool for researchers studying the mechanisms of cancer metastasis and the role of serpins in tumor biology.
