VPS4A Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects VPS4A in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). VPS4A (A-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. VPS4A is a crucial component of the class E vacuolar protein sorting pathway, which is essential for proper receptor sorting in the endocytic pathway of yeast. In humans, VPS4A, along with VPS4B ortholog, forms heteromeric complexes that play a significant role in intracellular protein trafficking, mirroring Vps4p function in yeast. VPS4A′s ability to facilitate protein transport out of prevacuolar endosomal compartments is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating various cellular processes. VPS4A and VPS4B are also exploited by retroviruses, such as HIV-1, which utilize the VPS pathway to bud from infected cells, highlighting VPS4A′s importance in both normal cellular function and viral pathogenesis. Dominant negative mutants of VPS4 proteins can disrupt vacuolar protein sorting and inhibit HIV-1 and murine leukemia virus budding, underscoring VPS4A′s critical role in viral replication and cellular dynamics.
