SEE ALSO...

apoA-I Antibody (B-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects apoA-I protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). apoA-I (B-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. apoA-I protein plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, primarily functioning as a key component of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in plasma, which is essential for reverse transport of cholesterol from peripheral tissues to liver for excretion. This process is vital for maintaining cholesterol homeostasis and preventing atherosclerosis, a condition characterized by buildup of fats, cholesterol, and other substances in and on artery walls. Additionally, apoA-I serves as a cofactor for lecithin cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT), an enzyme that catalyzes formation of cholesteryl esters, further facilitating lipid transport and metabolism. The significance of apoA-I in cardiovascular health highlights anti-apoA-I antibody (B-10) applications in research and clinical studies focused on understanding lipid disorders and developing therapeutic strategies.

Is antigen retrieval required with working with paraffin-embedded sections?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. Yes, we recommend performing antigen retrieval when using this antibody for IHC(P). Our recommended method is citrate buffer, pH 6, and heat. Our full protocol can be found on the website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

can sc-7297 is being uesed as secondery antibody for sc-376818

Asked by: saikatm91
Thank you for your question. No, it can not be used as a secondary antibody. sc-7297 is the catalog number for a mouse monoclonal primary antibody against HCAM (DF1485). And sc-376818 is the catalog number for a different mouse monoclonal primary antibody against apoA-I (B-10). A list of recommended secondary antibodies to be used with this primary antibody can be found on the product page. Choose which application you are using the primary antibody in, and a list of products is provided.
