GAPR-1 Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GAPR-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GAPR-1 monoclonal antibody (G-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GAPR-1, also known as Golgi-associated plant pathogenesis-related protein 1 or GLIPR2, is a 154 amino acid lipid anchor protein that belongs to the cysteine-rich secretory protein (CRISP) family, which is known for its potential roles in the innate immune system and is regulated by androgens in various tissues. GAPR-1 is primarily located in the Golgi apparatus and is highly expressed in lung and peripheral leukocytes, with lower levels found in the liver and kidney. This localization suggests a role in processing and trafficking proteins involved in immune responses. GAPR-1 exists as a homodimer and contains a conserved sperm-coating protein domain, allowing GAPR-1 to bind negatively charged lipids, which may facilitate the differentiation of epithelial cells into mesenchymal cells. Notably, increased expression of GAPR-1 in the kidney has been implicated in the development of fibrosis, highlighting GAPR-1′s significance in both normal physiological processes and pathological conditions.
