    SEE ALSO...

ADAM8 Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ADAM8 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-ADAM8 antibody (F-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ADAM8, also known as CD156 or MS2, is a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease) family, which consists of over 30 membrane-anchored, glycosylated, zinc-dependent proteases. These proteins play crucial roles in cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, influencing processes such as fertilization, muscle fusion, and the secretion of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα). ADAM8 is particularly important due to its involvement in modulating the neurogenic functions of Notch and Delta signaling pathways, which are essential for proper cell differentiation and development. Structurally, ADAM8 is composed of 824 amino acids, featuring a 16 amino acid signal peptide, a 637 amino acid extracellular region, a 25 amino acid transmembrane region, and a 146 amino acid cytoplasmic region that includes a consensus Src homology 3 (SH3)-binding domain. This unique structure allows ADAM8 to participate in various biological functions, including proteolysis, adhesion, fusion, and intracellular signaling, making ADAM8 a significant target for research in developmental biology and disease mechanisms.
