SEE ALSO...

LCAT Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT) of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-LCAT antibody (D-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. LCAT plays a vital role in lipid metabolism by catalyzing the esterification of cholesterol, which is essential for the formation of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and the transport of cholesterol in the bloodstream. This process is crucial for maintaining cellular cholesterol homeostasis and preventing the accumulation of excess cholesterol, which can lead to atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases. LCAT deficiency is associated with fish-eye disease, a rare genetic disorder characterized by abnormal HDL metabolism, highlighting the importance of LCAT in lipid transport and overall cardiovascular health.

Hi I am wondering whether this antibody works for immunostaining? Have ever tried this Abs for immunostaining, either fixed cells or paraffin embedded sample? I would like to stain the cells after the fixation with 4%PFA or methanol. Shin Ogawa

Asked by: Shin Ogawa
This primary antibody is recommended and warrantied for IF (immunofluorescent staining of fresh or frozen tissues or cells fixed in methanol or acetone), however we are still gathering data to show on our website. Check back for updates!

For Western Blot, is it recommended to use denatured or non-denatured conditions with LCAT (D-2): sc-376682 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. We recommend this antibody for use in denatured Western Blot conditions. It has not been validated for use in non-denatured conditions. Please contact our Technical Service Department for further details or inquiries.
