PKLR Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PKLR protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PKLR (E-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PKLR protein plays a crucial role in glycolysis, catalyzing the conversion of phosphoenolpyruvate to pyruvate while generating adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is vital for cellular energy production. PKLR enzyme is particularly significant in red blood cells and liver tissues, where PKLR helps regulate energy metabolism. PKLR gene encodes two isoenzymes, L-type and R-type, through alternative splicing, with the R-type isoform being essential for red blood cell function. Dysfunction in these isoforms can lead to serious conditions such as chronic nonspherocytic hemolytic anemia and maturity-onset diabetes of the young, highlighting PKLR′s importance in both metabolic processes and disease states.
