UGP2 Antibody (B-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects UGP2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-UGP2 antibody (B-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. UGP2, also known as UDP-glucose pyrophosphorylase 2, UDPG, UGPP2, UDPGP2, or pHC379, is an evolutionarily conserved protein that belongs to the UDPGP type 1 family. UGP2 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where UGP2 forms homooligomers and plays a crucial role in cellular metabolic pathways. UGP2 catalyzes the transfer of a glucose moiety from glucose-1-phosphate to UTP, resulting in the production of diphosphate and UDP-glucose. UDP-glucose serves as an essential precursor for polysaccharide synthesis. In the liver and muscle, UDP-glucose is a key precursor for glycogen synthesis, while in the liver, UDP-glucose also contributes to UDP-glucuronate formation. In the lactating mammary gland, UDP-glucose is converted to UDP-galactose, which is subsequently utilized in lactose production. UGP2′s ability to facilitate these critical metabolic processes underscores UGP2′s importance in energy storage and carbohydrate metabolism, making UGP2 (B-3) monoclonal antibody a valuable tool for researchers studying these pathways.
