SEE ALSO...

NF-M Antibody (1A2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects neurofilament-M (NF-M) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NF-M is a crucial component of the neuronal cytoskeleton, belonging to the intermediate filament family, and plays a significant role in maintaining the structural integrity of neurons. Dynamic nature is underscored by the presence of multiple phosphorylation sites that are targeted by various protein kinases, including protein kinase A, protein kinase C, and cyclin-dependent kinase 5, which are essential for regulating axon caliber and overall neuronal function. The phosphorylation state of NF-M is particularly important, as alterations in phosphorylation and metabolism are often linked to neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson′s disease, and Alzheimer′s disease, making NF-M a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions. Anti-NF-M antibody (1A2) provides researchers with a powerful tool for investigating the role of neurofilaments in neuronal health and disease, facilitating a deeper understanding of the underlying mechanisms of neurodegeneration.
