    SEE ALSO...

AIFL Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects AIFL protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AIFL Antibody (A-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AIFL, or apoptosis-inducing factor-like, also known as AIFM3, is a 605 amino acid protein primarily localized to the mitochondrion, where AIFL plays a crucial role in apoptosis regulation. AIFL′s mitochondrial localization enables direct influence on mitochondrial membrane potential and facilitates pro-apoptotic factor release, initiating a caspase-dependent apoptotic pathway. AIFL′s function is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation, which can lead to cancer. AIFL expression occurs in various tissues, including liver, thymus, ovary, bone marrow, and cerebral cortex, highlighting AIFL′s importance in diverse biological processes. AIFL′s encoding gene is located on human chromosome 22, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including Phelan-McDermid syndrome and Neurofibromatosis type 2, underscoring AIFL′s relevance in both health and disease.
