SEE ALSO...

AP4A Hydrolase Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects AP4A Hydrolase protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AP4A Hydrolase (F-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AP4A hydrolase plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism by hydrolyzing asymmetric diadenosine 5′,5′′′-P(1) P(4)-tetraphosphate (Ap4A) into ATP and AMP, thus maintaining nucleotide homeostasis. This enzymatic activity is particularly important in pancreatic beta cells, where AP4A hydrolase regulates ATP-sensitive potassium channels, leading to membrane depolarization and subsequent insulin secretion. Dysregulation of this process may contribute to the pathophysiology of diabetes mellitus, as elevated Ap4A levels can result in increased blood glucose and decreased plasma insulin. Additionally, AP4A hydrolase exhibits activity towards other adenosine and diadenosine polyphosphates with four or more phosphate groups, further underscoring its significance in cellular stress responses and metabolic regulation.
