SEE ALSO...

Bad Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Bad protein of mouse, rat, and human origin through applications such as western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Bad (C-7) antibody is offered in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Bad protein plays a crucial role in the regulation of apoptosis, which is the process of programmed cell death essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and development. By promoting cell death, Bad acts as a pro-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family, counteracting the effects of anti-apoptotic proteins like Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL. The ability of Bad to dimerize with Bcl-xL and Bcl-2, while not interacting with other pro-apoptotic proteins such as Bax, highlights its specific regulatory function in apoptosis. This selective binding is significant because Bad effectively reverses the death-repressing activity of Bcl-xL, thereby facilitating the activation of Bax and promoting apoptosis in response to cellular stress. Understanding Bad function and interactions within the Bcl-2 family is vital for elucidating the mechanisms of cell death and survival, which have implications in cancer research and therapeutic strategies.

I work with mouse samples and I need to do IHC. How can I be successful with a mouse monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Cweed
We recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This product, sc-8044, is available directly conjugated to AF488, AF647, and FITC.
