SEE ALSO...

CD81 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody engineered to target CD81, also known as TAPA-1. CD81 monoclonal antibody (D-4) is raised against amino acids 90-210 of human CD81 and demonstrates reactivity with CD81 from mouse, rat, and human species, making CD81 (D-4) antibody suitable for western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD81 is a type III transmembrane protein located primarily on the plasma membrane, where CD81 plays a pivotal role in cell signaling and communication. CD81′s strategic position within the cell membrane allows CD81 to facilitate interactions between cells and their environment, which is essential for processes such as cell growth, differentiation, and immune responses. CD81 is widely expressed on cells of hematopoietic, neuroectodermal, and mesenchymal origin, highlighting CD81′s importance across various biological systems. CD81 forms multimolecular complexes by associating with other proteins like CD37 and CD53, and on B cells, CD81 interacts with CD19, CD21, and MHC class II antigens, which are crucial for the regulation of immune responses. CD81′s ability to mediate these interactions underscores CD81′s significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and effective immune function. CD81 (D-4) monoclonal antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and fluorescent labels, providing flexibility for diverse research applications.

Will this antibody detect CD81 if the lysates contain DTT?  Some anti-CD81 antibodies could only detect it when the lysates are not reduced.

Can I use this mouse monoclonal antibody for immunohistochemical staining of mouse tissue? Or even double or triple staining on the same samples?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. No. We recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody, SC-166029. This antibody is currently available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-166029 PE), fluorescein (sc-166029 FITC), Alexa Fluor® 488 (sc-166029 AF488) or Alexa Fluor® 647 (sc-166029 AF647). Please contact Technical Service if you have further questions concerning this product.
