SEE ALSO...

COL6A1 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects COL6A1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-COL6A1 antibody (B-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. COL6A1, a crucial component of collagen type VI, plays a significant role in the structural integrity of the extracellular matrix, particularly in connective tissues such as tendons and cartilage. A unique triple helix structure allows for the formation of stable fibrils, which are essential for providing tensile strength and elasticity to tissues. COL6A1 is involved in cell adhesion processes, which are vital for maintaining normal tissue architecture and function. Disruptions in COL6A1 expression or function can lead to various connective tissue disorders, highlighting COL6A1′s importance in both health and disease.

Has the antibody been used for flow cytometry?

Asked by: Noor
Thank you for your question. This antibody has not yet been tested for Flow cytometry and so that is not a recommended application at this time. We are still gathering data to show on our website. Check back for updates!

Hi, do you have any data that this antibody works for immunoprecipitation? Yes, I see that in the description you claim it does. But I'm wondering if the Western blot images came from post-IP. Thank you, David

Asked by: David K
Thank you for your question. The Western blot data shown on our website currently is from a direct Western blot, without any immunoprecipitation of the tested whole cell lysates. This primary antibody is recommended and warrantied for immunoprecipitation (IP), however we are still gathering data to show on our website. Check back for updates!

What application is the blocking peptide sc-377143 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Rated 4 out of 5 by from worked welll for WB of mouse tissue extractsWorked well with standard WB conditions: 20-60μg protein (total extracts in RIPA buffer) per sample was loaded. Membranes were blocked with 5% BSA or non-fat dry milk in PBS-T(1% Tween 20). Antibody was diluted 1/500.Blots were incubated with the appropriate secondary horseradish peroxidase-coupled antibody (GE) and developed using the Luminata Western HRP Substrate (Millipore) and Amersham ECL Hyperfilms (GE Healthcare) or a ChemiDoc XRS+ imaging system with Image Lab image acquisition and analysis software (Bio-Rad)
