ICAM-1 Antibody (6.5B5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against TNF-activated human umbilical vein endothelial cells, demonstrating reactivity with mouse, rat, and human species. Anti-ICAM-1 antibody (6.5B5) is suitable for applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). ICAM-1, also known as CD54 or intercellular adhesion molecule-1, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Structurally, ICAM-1 consists of five extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains, a single transmembrane domain, and a short cytoplasmic tail. These multiple immunoglobulin-like domains are crucial for binding to leukocyte integrins such as LFA-1 (CD11a/CD18) and Mac-1 (CD11b/CD18), facilitating cell-cell adhesion during immune responses. This molecular structure enables precise interactions required for leukocyte transmigration across the endothelium during inflammation. Alterations in ICAM-1 structure or expression can impact immune surveillance and contribute to various pathological conditions, including autoimmune diseases and cancer metastasis. ICAM-1 (6.5B5) monoclonal antibody serves as a valuable tool for studying cell adhesion, signaling, and immune regulation in immunology and cell biology research.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works for WB and FCM applicationsIt works quite well for both WB and FCM, however, to see de band in WB you have to use non-reducing conditions and thus, to see correctly actin I have to make two gels because actin does not look good under non-reducing conditions. But it works very well and the induction with TNF alpha in HUVEC cells is detected perfectly in both applications.
