SEE ALSO...

XRCC4 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects XRCC4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-XRCC4 antibody (C-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. XRCC4 plays a crucial role in the DNA double-strand break repair (DSBR) pathway, which is essential for maintaining genomic stability and preventing chromosomal aberrations that can lead to cancer. Located primarily in the nucleus, XRCC4 interacts with other key proteins involved in DNA repair, such as DNA ligase IV, to facilitate the ligation of DNA ends during the repair process. This interaction is vital because any disruption in the DSBR pathway can result in severe consequences, including increased susceptibility to genomic instability and cancer development. XRCC4 has been shown to restore DSBR activity and V(D)J recombination in cells with impaired repair mechanisms, highlighting its importance in both somatic and immune system development. XRCC4′s ability to function effectively in these processes underscores its significance as a target for research into DNA repair mechanisms and potential therapeutic interventions in cancer.
