Background

HLA-DRB5 belongs to the HLA class II beta chain paralogues. This class II molecule is a heterodimer consisting of an alpha (DRA) and a beta (DRB) chain, both anchored in the membrane. It plays a central role in the immune system by presenting peptides derived from extracellular proteins. Class II molecules are expressed in antigen presenting cells (APC: B lymphocytes, dendritic cells, macrophages). The beta chain is approximately 26-28 kDa and its gene contains 6 exons. Exon one encodes the leader peptide, exons 2 and 3 encode the two extracellular domains, exon 4 encodes the transmembrane domain and exon 5 encodes the cytoplasmic tail. Within the DR molecule the beta chain contains all the polymorphisms specifying the peptide binding specificities. Typing for these polymorphisms is routinely done for bone marrow and kidney transplantation. DRB1 is expressed at a level five times higher than its paralogues DRB3, DRB4 and DRB5. The presence of DRB5 is linked with allelic variants of DRB1, otherwise it is omitted. There are 4 related pseudogenes: DRB2, DRB6, DRB7, DRB8 and DRB9. [provided by RefSeq]

FAQs for HLA DRB5 Protein (NBP2-14093PEP). (Showing 1 - 1 of 1 FAQ).

  1. We are interested in custom labeling our antibodies to be able to integrate new markers into already existing multicolor FACS panels. We would be glad to receive pricing and general order information for anti-HLA-DRB1 and anti-HLA-DRB5. To estimate expenses for future antibody labeling orders it would be helpful to know on what basis (amount, type, etc.) the price is going to be calculated. Right now the antibodies are still in mouse ascites. Would it be possible to integrate the elution of the antibodies from the ascites before labeling as part of the service agreement?
    • While we do not generally do this kind of custom purification unless it is for very large amounts of antibody, we do have a number of kits available that may be of use to you. Since an antibody that is still in ascites can not be labeled, it will need to be purified. A list of our kits available for this can be found at the following link: AbSelect. Once the antibodies are purified, they can be labeled with any number of different colors. A list of these kits for labeling can be found at the following link: Lightning-Link.

Molarity Calculator

Calculate the mass, volume, or concentration required for a solution.

The molarity calculator is based on the following equation:

Mass (g) = Concentration (mol/L) x Volume (L) x Molecular Weight (g/mol)

As an example, if the molecular weight of a compound is 197.13 g/mol and the desired concentration is 10 mM for 10 ml of water based stock solution, the required mass would be = 19.713 (value determined by this calculator).
