FBP1

Gene Symbol FBP1
Entrez Gene 100008863
Alt Symbol -
Species Rabbit
Gene Type protein-coding
Description fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase 1
Other Description -
Swissprots P00637
Accessions AJ300657 CAC19334 GBCK01247372 XM_002708294 XP_002708340
Function Catalyzes the hydrolysis of fructose 1,6-bisphosphate to fructose 6-phosphate in the presence of divalent cations, acting as a rate-limiting enzyme in gluconeogenesis. Plays a role in regulating glucose sensing and insulin secretion of pancreatic beta-cells. Appears to modulate glycerol gluconeogenesis in liver. Important regulator of appetite and adiposity; increased expression of the protein in liver after nutrient excess increases circulating satiety hormones and reduces appetite-stimulating neuropeptides and thus seems to provide a feedback mechanism to limit weight gain (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}.

Sensitivity The minimum detectable dose of rat FBP1 is typically less than 9.77 pg/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.
Range 39 pg/ml -2500 pg/ml.
